A DLC layer is much more smooth and wear-resilient than the original friction surface, even a new one. Its growth optimizes the gaps in the friction pairs. The friction coefficient reduces significantly, thus reducing energy consumption. You can notice that after already 6 working hours by lower vibration and noise levels, by lesser temperatures of the bearings, reducers, etc.
